Kate Boyd, SCDL Program Director

Kate Foster Boyd is the Digital Collections Librarian at the University of South Carolina. Ms. Boyd was a reference librarian at USC from 2001-2003. She also spent 2 years at the National Digital Library at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., where she was a Digital Conversion Specialist and helped create the digital library Meeting of Frontiers. Ms. Boyd received her M.L.I.S. from the School of Information at the University of Michigan in 1999 and a B.A. in Art History and French Area Studies from Kenyon College in 1992.


Emily Gore, Assistant Director for Upstate

Emily Gore manages Clemson University’s Digital Collections. Prior to joining the Clemson University libraries, Gore managed the statewide digitization program in North Carolina, NC ECHO. Before leading NC ECHO, Gore was Digital Collections Librarian at East Carolina University for over 3 years, where she lead the development of several grant-funded digital projects, including the award-winning Eastern North Carolina Digital Library.  Gore is no stranger to South Carolina. She is the former Systems Librarian at The Citadel and a graduate of Clemson University. Gore holds an MLIS from the University of Alabama.


Lisa Hartman, Assistant Director for Pee Dee

Lisa Hartman is the Reference & Outreach Librarian at Coastal Carolina University. From 2005-06 she was the map cataloger for Frostburg State University’s (FSU) Maryland Coal Mine Mapping Project. She was also a Library Technician at FSU (2000-05) and an Information Specialist and Database Programmer for the Federal Information Center project in Cumberland, MD (1990-2000). She received her MLIS from the University of South Carolina in 2005.


Christopher Vinson, Project Consultant, Webmaster

Christopher Vinson is the Systems Librarian at the College of Charleston. Christopher previously served as the SCDL assistant project coordinator throughout most of 2007-2008. Christopher earned his MLIS at USC in 2008 and his B.A. in English from Winthrop University in 2006.


John White, Ph.D., Assistant Director for Low Country

John White has been an archivist in the Special Collections Department of the College of Charleston and a member of the PASCAL Digital Collections Committee since 2001. In the Special Collections Department, he is in charge of loading collections to the CONTENTdm server and supervising the scanning of rare materials. Dr. White received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Florida Gainesville in May 2006. He also received a Masters in History from the College of Charleston in 1999 and a B.S. in Political Science from Bridgewater College in 1996.
